How quotation records relate to estimates

INTENDED SEARCHES: quotation, quote, estimate quote, quotation item

Some accounts or screens may use quotation language for quote-style records that are related to estimates or proposed work.

If your account shows both quotation and estimate wording, treat the customer-facing purpose as the same general idea: proposed work that has not yet become completed billable work.

Information you may see:

- Customer or lead.

- Quotation items.

- Services, products, packages, or custom line items.

- Quantities and prices.

- Notes.

- Status.

Best practice:

Use the customer-facing wording your account displays. If the screen says Estimate, call it an estimate. If the screen says Quote or Quotation, call it a quote.

Before saving or relying on this record, check:

- Customer/lead.

- Items.

- Pricing.

- Status.

- Approval or send status.

Why this matters:

Consistent wording prevents customers and office staff from confusing proposed work with scheduled jobs or invoices.

Support note:

If the customer cannot find the option, cannot save the record, sees different fields, or receives an error, they should contact support with the record name, page they were on, what they clicked, and a screenshot if possible.
