How estimate line items work

Estimate line items are the individual services, products, packages, or custom items being proposed to the customer.


Line item types may include:

- Service.

- Product.

- Package.

- Custom item or custom service name.


Fields you may see on a line item:

- Item type.

- Item selected.

- Custom service name.

- Customer custom field value.

- Recurrence type or frequency.

- Quantity.

- Unit price.

- Budget hours.

- Tax.

- Discount.

- Discount type.

- Discount amount.

- Deposit enabled.

- Deposit type.

- Deposit percentage.

- Deposit amount.

- Image.

- Note.

- Total cost.


Before saving a line item, check:

1. The correct item type is selected.

2. The selected service, product, or package is correct.

3. Quantity and unit price are correct.

4. Budget hours are realistic if used for scheduling or reporting.

5. Tax, discount, and deposit settings are correct.

6. Notes and images are attached only when helpful.


Why this matters:

Line items drive estimate totals and may affect scheduling, billing, purchase orders, reporting, and customer expectations.
