How draft records work

INTENDED SEARCHES: draft, saved draft, draft record, unfinished record

A draft is an unfinished or not-yet-finalized record.

Drafts may be used for documents, emails, invoices, estimates, or other records depending on the area of the system.

Use drafts when work needs to be saved before final review, sending, approval, or posting.

Basic process:

1. Open the area where the draft was created.

2. Find the draft record.

3. Review all required fields.

4. Complete missing information.

5. Save, send, approve, or finalize only after reviewing the record.

Before saving or relying on this record, check:

- Record type.

- Customer or vendor.

- Missing required fields.

- Totals if financial.

- Send/finalize status.

Why this matters:

Drafts reduce mistakes because staff can prepare records without immediately sending or posting them.

Support note:

If the customer cannot find the option, cannot save the record, sees different fields, or receives an error, they should contact support with the record name, page they were on, what they clicked, and a screenshot if possible.
