How customer autopay works

Modified on Mon, 15 Jun at 8:24 PM

INTENDED SEARCHES: autopay, automatic payment, card on file, max amount

Autopay is used when a customer has payment information on file and the account is configured to charge automatically.

Fields you may see:

- Autopay enabled.

- Maximum amount limit.

- Autopay type.

- Default card or payment method.

Before enabling autopay, check:

1. The customer has authorized automatic payment.

2. The correct payment method is saved.

3. The maximum amount is correct if a limit is used.

4. The autopay type is correct for the customer.

5. Billing and invoice details are correct.

Why this matters:

Autopay can save time and reduce unpaid invoices, but incorrect setup can charge the wrong amount or create customer service problems.

Support note:

If you cannot find the option, cannot save the record, see different fields, or receive an error, contact support with the page, record name or number, what you clicked, what happened, and a screenshot if possible.
