INTENDED SEARCHES: add customer, create customer, new customer
Use this process when adding a new customer record.
Steps:
1. Open the Customers area.
2. Select the option to create a new customer.
3. Enter the customer name. If the customer is a company, enter the company name as well.
4. Add phone and email when available.
5. Add the service address, including street, city, state, and zip code.
6. Add an entrance code or access note if needed.
7. Add billing information if it is different from the service address.
8. Select the preferred communication method if available.
9. Select payment method, sales person, contractor, business category, tags, taxable setting, or custom fields if those apply to the account.
10. Save the customer.
Fields you may see:
- Lead customer yes/no.
- First name and last name.
- Company name.
- Phone and email.
- Service address.
- Entrance code.
- Billing address and billing contact.
- Lead acquired date or client since date.
- Preferred communication.
- Payment method.
- Sales person.
- Contractor.
- Business category.
- Taxable setting.
- Tags, keywords, and custom fields.
Before saving, check:
- Customer name.
- Phone and email.
- Correct service address.
- Billing address if different.
- Taxable setting.
- Notes or tags that help the office understand the customer.
Why this matters:
The customer record is used by estimates, jobs, invoices, dispatch, payments, and reports. Bad customer information creates mistakes across the whole system.

If you cannot find the option, cannot save the record, see different fields, or receive an error, contact support with the page, record name or number, what you clicked, what happened, and a screenshot if possible.
